DILLSBURG – To help combat identity theft, area residents are encouraged to attend a free document shredding event hosted by Rep. Dawn Keefer (R-Dillsburg) this month in Lewisberry.
“Shredding documents is an easy, yet important step in preventing identity theft,” Keefer said. “This free event is an easy way to make sure documents containing important personal information don’t fall into the wrong hands.”
The event will be held at Red Land High School, located at 560 Fishing Creek Road, Lewisberry on Saturday, July 29, from 9 a.m. to noon.
All documents brought by residents will be shredded. Residents are encouraged to bring documents that contain credit card numbers, Social Security numbers, medical information and bank account information to be shredded so they aren’t used by nefarious characters to commit identification fraud.
Residents are asked to bring papers and documents in loose form. Magazines, books or trash will not be accepted. This is an event for residents of the 92nd Legislative District only; no businesses, please.
Anyone with questions should call Keefer’s office at 717-432-0792.
